ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ
Taking what their Lord gives them. Before that they were doers of good. The commentaries read the taking as receiving with contentment what is given, and the good-doing as what they did in the life before - which is what the next verses set out, one line at a time.
