مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ
Your companion has not strayed from the road, nor has he gone wrong. The commentaries take the two words as covering the two ways a man can fail - losing the path of guidance, and holding to a false belief - and deny both of him.
تمہارا ساتھی نہ راستے سے بھٹکا ہے اور نہ ہی گمراہ ہوا ہے۔ مفسرین نے ان دونوں الفاظ کو انسان کی ناکامی کی دو صورتوں پر محیط سمجھا ہے: ہدایت کا راستہ کھو دینا، اور کسی غلط عقیدے پر قائم ہو جانا، اور دونوں کی ان سے نفی کی گئی ہے۔
