وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٍ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ لَا تُغْنِى شَفَٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَن يَأْذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرْضَىٰٓ
And how many an angel there is in the heavens whose intercession avails nothing at all, except after God gives leave to whom He wills and accepts. The commentaries take the argument to its end with it: if those brought nearest cannot speak for anyone unbidden, carved stones certainly cannot.
اور آسمانوں میں کتنے ہی فرشتے ہیں جن کی سفارش کچھ بھی کام نہیں آتی، سوائے اس کے کہ اللہ جسے چاہے اور جس سے راضی ہو اسے اجازت دے دے۔ مفسرین نے اس دلیل کو اس کی انتہا تک پہنچایا ہے: جب سب سے مقرب ہستیاں بھی بغیر اجازت کے کسی کی سفارش نہیں کر سکتیں، تو تراشے ہوئے پتھر یقیناً نہیں کر سکتے۔
