بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱقْتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلْقَمَرُ
The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split. Both traditions carry the splitting as a sign given at the Prophet's hand and seen by those present, and the sura opens on it: the Hour named first, and then a thing that had just happened in front of them.
قیامت قریب آ گئی ہے اور چاند پھٹ گیا۔ دونوں روایات اس پھٹنے کو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ہاتھ پر دی گئی ایک نشانی کے طور پر بیان کرتی ہیں جسے موجود لوگوں نے دیکھا، اور یہ سورت اسی سے شروع ہوتی ہے: پہلے قیامت کا نام لیا گیا، پھر وہ چیز جو ابھی ابھی ان کے سامنے پیش آئی تھی۔
