خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلْصَٰلٍ كَٱلْفَخَّارِ
He created man from dry clay that rings when struck, like pottery. The commentaries set the stages side by side without setting them against each other - dust, then clay, then dark mud, then clay that rings - and take them as one making described from different points in it.
