بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ
When the Event falls. The commentaries take the name from the verb itself: it is called the Event because it certainly falls, and what falls is the Resurrection. The sura opens on the moment of its arrival, not on an argument that it will arrive.
جب وہ ہونے والا واقعہ رونما ہو جائے گا۔ اس کا نام خود اس کے وقوع سے لیا گیا ہے: اسے واقعہ اس لیے کہا گیا کہ اس کا واقع ہونا یقینی ہے، اور جو چیز واقع ہوگی وہ قیامت ہی ہے۔ سورت کا آغاز اس کے آنے کی گھڑی سے ہوتا ہے، اس بحث سے نہیں کہ آیا وہ آئے گی بھی یا نہیں۔
