لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَٰهُ حُطَٰمًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ
If We willed, We would make it broken chaff, and you would be left exclaiming. The commentaries gloss the first word as a dry crop with no grain in it, and the second as the talk that goes round afterwards, turning the loss over.
اگر ہم چاہیں تو اسے چورا چورا کر دیں، اور تم باتیں بناتے ہی رہ جاؤ۔ مفسرین پہلے لفظ کی تشریح ایسی خشک فصل سے کرتے ہیں جس میں کوئی دانہ نہ ہو، اور دوسرے کی تشریح اس گفتگو سے جو بعد میں چلتی ہے، جس میں نقصان اٹھانے والے اپنے نقصان کو الٹتے پلٹتے رہتے ہیں۔
