لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَ
None touches it but the purified. The commentaries read the line as a statement carrying the force of a command, and both traditions draw the same ruling from it: the written text is not handled by one who is not in a state of purity.
