لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
His is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He gives life and He gives death, and He has power over everything. The commentaries note the order in it - the giving of life first and the death after it - and read the whole line as the ground for what the sura will ask of the reader.
اس آیت میں اللہ کی بادشاہی اور اس کے دو صفاتی افعال، زندگی دینا اور موت دینا، بیان ہوئے ہیں۔ بیان القرآن میں لکھا ہے کہ ابتدائی حرفِ جار تملیک اور استحقاق دونوں کے لیے آ سکتا ہے، یعنی آسمان و زمین کی بادشاہی حقیقتاً اور قانوناً دونوں طرح اسی کی ہے۔ احسن البیان کے مطابق بارش، نباتات اور رزق کے سارے خزانے بھی اسی کے قبضے میں ہیں، اس کے سوا کسی کا حکم نہیں چلتا۔ مفسرین اس ترتیب پر بھی غور کرتے ہیں کہ زندگی دینے کا ذکر موت دینے سے پہلے آیا، اور اسے پوری سورت کے مطالبات کی بنیاد کے طور پر پڑھتے ہیں۔
