هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُ ٱلْبَارِئُ ٱلْمُصَوِّرُ لَهُ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
He is God, the Creator, the Maker, the Shaper. His are the most beautiful names. Everything in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. The commentaries gloss the second name as bringing into being out of nothing and the third as giving each made thing the form that marks it off from every other, and note that the sura closes on the words it opened with.
وہی اللہ ہے، پیدا کرنے والا، عدم سے وجود میں لانے والا، صورت گری کرنے والا۔ اسی کے لیے سب سے اچھے نام ہیں۔ آسمانوں اور زمین میں جو کچھ ہے سب اسی کی تسبیح کرتا ہے، اور وہی زبردست، بڑی حکمت والا ہے۔ مفسرین دوسرے نام کی وضاحت عدم سے وجود میں لانے کے طور پر کرتے ہیں اور تیسرے کی وضاحت ہر بنائی گئی چیز کو وہ شکل دینے کے طور پر جو اسے ہر دوسری چیز سے ممتاز کرتی ہے، اور نوٹ کرتے ہیں کہ سورت انہی الفاظ پر ختم ہوتی ہے جن سے یہ شروع ہوئی تھی۔
