سَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَآ أَشْرَكْنَا وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن شَىْءٍ كَذَٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ ذَاقُوا۟ بَأْسَنَا قُلْ هَلْ عِندَكُم مِّنْ عِلْمٍ فَتُخْرِجُوهُ لَنَآ إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَإِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَخْرُصُونَ
Those who set up partners will say: had God willed, we would not have set up partners, nor our fathers, and we would have forbidden nothing. So did those before them deny, until they tasted Our force. Say: do you have any knowledge you can bring out for us? You follow nothing but conjecture, and you only guess.
شریک ٹھہرانے والے کہیں گے: اگر اللہ چاہتا تو نہ ہم شرک کرتے اور نہ ہمارے آباء، اور نہ ہم کسی چیز کو حرام کرتے۔ اسی طرح ان سے پہلے لوگوں نے بھی جھٹلایا، یہاں تک کہ انہوں نے ہماری سختی چکھ لی۔ کہہ دیجیے: کیا تمہارے پاس کوئی علم ہے جو تم ہمارے سامنے پیش کر سکو؟ تم تو صرف گمان کی پیروی کرتے ہو اور تم صرف اٹکل لگاتے ہو۔
