وَمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ وَلَلدَّارُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
The life of this world is nothing but play and amusement, and the home of the Hereafter is better for those who guard themselves. Will you not use reason? The commentaries add the same qualification: what is called play here is the occupation with it, not obedience and what helps towards it.
اور دنیا کی زندگی محض کھیل اور تماشا ہے، اور آخرت کا گھر ان لوگوں کے لیے بہتر ہے جو تقویٰ اختیار کرتے ہیں۔ کیا تم عقل نہیں رکھتے؟ تفاسیر یہاں یہی شرط جوڑتی ہیں: جسے یہاں کھیل کہا گیا ہے وہ اسی میں مشغول ہو جانا ہے، اطاعت اور اس کی مددگار چیزیں اس میں شامل نہیں۔
