وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَٱلْيَسَعَ وَيُونُسَ وَلُوطًا وَكُلًّا فَضَّلْنَا عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And Ishmael, Elisha, Jonah and Lot; and each We favoured above the worlds. The commentaries note the range of the list: it takes in fathers, sons and brothers alike, so the favour follows the calling and not one line of descent.
اور اسماعیل، الیسع، یونس اور لوط؛ اور ہر ایک کو ہم نے جہانوں پر فضیلت دی۔ تفاسیر اس فہرست کی وسعت پر توجہ دلاتی ہیں: اس میں باپ، بیٹے اور بھائی سب شامل ہیں، سو یہ فضیلت دعوت کے ذریعے حاصل ہوتی ہے، کسی ایک نسب کے ذریعے نہیں۔
