إِن يَثْقَفُوكُمْ يَكُونُوا۟ لَكُمْ أَعْدَآءً وَيَبْسُطُوٓا۟ إِلَيْكُمْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَلْسِنَتَهُم بِٱلسُّوٓءِ وَوَدُّوا۟ لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ
If they get the upper hand of you they will be enemies to you, and stretch out their hands and their tongues against you with harm, and they would love you to refuse. The commentaries fill in the two limbs plainly - striking with the hands, abuse with the tongues - and note the last clause as the real measure of the friendship being offered.
