بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
Everything in the heavens and the earth declares God free of every imperfection. The word the āyah uses takes in the whole of creation and not only those who can speak. He is the Mighty, whose dominion nothing escapes, and the Wise, whose making is without flaw.
آسمانوں اور زمین میں جو کچھ ہے سب اللہ کی تسبیح کرتا ہے، اور وہ زبردست، حکمت والا ہے۔ جلالین کے مطابق یہاں لفظ ما استعمال ہوا ہے نہ کہ من، تاکہ اکثریت یعنی بےجان مخلوقات کو بھی شامل کیا جائے۔ علامہ سعدی لکھتے ہیں کہ یہ اللہ کی عظمت اور تمام چیزوں کی اس کے سامنے پستی کا بیان ہے، اور آسمانوں اور زمین میں جو بھی ہے وہ اپنے رب کی تسبیح اور حمد کرتا اور اس کی عبادت کرتا ہے۔ تفسیر مقباس اس افتتاحیہ کو آگے کی آیات سے یوں جوڑتی ہے کہ کافر اس لیے لڑائی کے حق دار ہیں کہ وہ تمام مخلوقات سے الگ ہو گئے، نہ اللہ کی تسبیح کی۔
