وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱمْرَأَتَ فِرْعَوْنَ إِذْ قَالَتْ رَبِّ ٱبْنِ لِى عِندَكَ بَيْتًا فِى ٱلْجَنَّةِ وَنَجِّنِى مِن فِرْعَوْنَ وَعَمَلِهِۦ وَنَجِّنِى مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And God sets as a likeness for those who believe the wife of Pharaoh, when she said: my Lord, build me a house with You in the Garden, and save me from Pharaoh and from what he does, and save me from the wrongdoing people. The commentaries name her and record what she bore for believing: she was under the worst of husbands, and it did not touch her standing with God.
اور اللہ نے مومنوں کے لیے فرعون کی بیوی کی مثال دی، جب اس نے کہا: اے میرے رب! میرے لیے اپنے پاس جنت میں ایک گھر بنا دے، اور مجھے فرعون اور اس کے کام سے بچا لے، اور مجھے ظالم قوم سے بچا لے۔ قرطبی بتاتے ہیں کہ اس کا نام آسیہ بنت مزاحم تھا، اور یحییٰ بن سلام کا قول نقل کرتے ہیں کہ ضرب اللہ مثلا للذین کفروا کی مثال اللہ نے اس لیے دی کہ یہ بتائے۔ ابن کثیر بتاتے ہیں کہ یہ ایک مثال ہے جو اللہ نے مومنوں کے لیے دی کہ کافروں سے میل جول انہیں نقصان نہیں دیتا اگر وہ ان کے محتاج ہوں، جیسا کہ اللہ کا فرمان ہے کہ مومن کافروں کو دوست نہ بنائیں۔ زمخشری روایت نقل کرتے ہیں کہ ابوہریرہ سے مروی ہے کہ فرعون نے اپنی بیوی کو چار میخوں سے باندھا، اسے سورج کے سامنے کیا، اسے پیٹھ کے بل لٹایا، اور اس کے سینے پر ایک چکی رکھ دی۔
