كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ
Such is the punishment; and the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if only they knew. The commentaries make the whole story point here: what fell on the garden is a small measure of what is coming.
