وَإِن يَكَادُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا۟ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُۥ لَمَجْنُونٌ
Those who refuse all but strike you down with their eyes when they hear the Reminder, and they say: he is possessed. The commentaries agree the look meant is a hard, hostile stare, and that the charge of madness is made because of the Qur'ān he brought.
انکار کرنے والے تو تمہیں اپنی نظروں سے تقریباً گرا ہی دیتے ہیں جب وہ نصیحت سنتے ہیں، اور کہتے ہیں: یہ دیوانہ ہے۔ مفسرین اس بات پر متفق ہیں کہ یہاں مراد ایک سخت، دشمنی بھری گھورتی نظر ہے، اور دیوانگی کا الزام اسی قرآن کی وجہ سے لگایا جاتا ہے جو وہ لے کر آئے۔
