سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى ٱلْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ
He loosed it on them seven nights and eight days without a break, and you would have seen the people felled, as though they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. The commentaries agree the days ran consecutively and that nothing living was left standing.
اس نے اسے ان پر سات راتیں اور آٹھ دن بلا کسی رکاوٹ کے چھوڑے رکھا، اور تم لوگوں کو اس میں ایسے گرا ہوا دیکھتے جیسے وہ کھجور کے کھوکھلے تنے ہوں۔ مفسرین اس بات پر متفق ہیں کہ یہ دن لگاتار گزرے اور کوئی بھی زندہ چیز کھڑی نہیں بچی۔
