قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
The chiefs of Pharaoh's people said: this is a knowing sorcerer. The commentaries note the admission buried in the charge: they did not deny what they had seen, only renamed it.
