قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَأَرْسِلْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
They said: hold him and his brother back, and send gatherers into the cities. The commentaries read the delay as the advice of men who wanted time: not a judgement, but a postponement while they assembled their own answer.
انہوں نے کہا: اسے اور اس کے بھائی کو مؤخر کر دو، اور شہروں میں جمع کرنے والوں کو بھیج دو۔ مفسرین اس تاخیر کو ان لوگوں کے مشورے کے طور پر بیان کرتے ہیں جو وقت چاہتے تھے: یہ کوئی فیصلہ نہیں تھا بلکہ اپنا جواب تیار کرنے کے دوران محض ایک التوا تھا۔
