قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
They said: it is to our Lord that we are returning. The commentaries read it as the answer of men who had stopped fearing the threat: what he promises them is death, and death is the road home.
انہوں نے کہا: بےشک ہم اپنے رب ہی کی طرف لوٹنے والے ہیں۔ مفسرین اسے ایسے لوگوں کا جواب سمجھتے ہیں جو اس دھمکی سے بےخوف ہو چکے تھے: وہ جس چیز کا وعدہ کرتا ہے وہ موت ہے، اور موت ہی گھر لوٹنے کا راستہ ہے۔
