وَلَمَّا رَجَعَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ غَضْبَٰنَ أَسِفًا قَالَ بِئْسَمَا خَلَفْتُمُونِى مِنۢ بَعْدِىٓ أَعَجِلْتُمْ أَمْرَ رَبِّكُمْ وَأَلْقَى ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ وَأَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ أَخِيهِ يَجُرُّهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ ٱبْنَ أُمَّ إِنَّ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱسْتَضْعَفُونِى وَكَادُوا۟ يَقْتُلُونَنِى فَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِىَ ٱلْأَعْدَآءَ وَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And when Moses returned to his people, angry and grieved, he said: how badly you have acted in my place after me. Have you rushed ahead of your Lord's command? And he threw down the tablets and seized his brother's head, dragging him to himself. He said: son of my mother, the people overpowered me and almost killed me; so do not let the enemies gloat over me, and do not put me with the wrongdoing people.
اور جب موسیٰ اپنی قوم کی طرف غصے اور رنج کی حالت میں لوٹا تو کہا: تم نے میرے بعد میری جگہ کتنا برا کام کیا۔ کیا تم نے اپنے رب کے حکم کے آنے میں جلدی کر دی؟ اور اس نے تختیاں پھینک دیں اور اپنے بھائی کا سر پکڑ کر اسے اپنی طرف کھینچا۔ اس نے کہا: اے میری ماں کے بیٹے! ان لوگوں نے مجھے کمزور سمجھا اور قریب تھا کہ مجھے قتل کر دیں، پس تو دشمنوں کو مجھ پر خوش نہ ہونے دے اور مجھے ظالم لوگوں کے ساتھ شمار نہ کر۔
