خُذِ ٱلْعَفْوَ وَأْمُرْ بِٱلْعُرْفِ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ
Take what is readily given, command what is right, and turn away from the ignorant. The commentaries read the first phrase the same way: take from people what comes easily of their conduct, and do not go looking into the rest.
جو کچھ آسانی سے مل جائے اسے لے لو، نیک بات کا حکم دو، اور جاہلوں سے منہ پھیر لو۔ مفسرین پہلے فقرے کو اسی طرح پڑھتے ہیں: لوگوں سے ان کے چال چلن کی وہی چیز لے لو جو آسانی سے مل جائے، اور باقی کی کھوج میں مت پڑو۔
