وَإِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَٰحِشَةً قَالُوا۟ وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَآ ءَابَآءَنَا وَٱللَّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا قُلْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْفَحْشَآءِ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
And when they commit an indecency they say: we found our fathers doing it, and God commanded it of us. Say: God does not command indecency. Do you say about God what you do not know? The commentaries carry the same practice behind it: circling the House naked, and calling that inherited custom a command.
اور جب وہ کوئی بےحیائی کا کام کرتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں: ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو یہی کرتے پایا ہے اور اللہ نے ہمیں اسی کا حکم دیا ہے۔ کہہ دیجیے: اللہ کبھی بےحیائی کا حکم نہیں دیتا، کیا تم اللہ کے بارے میں وہ باتیں کہتے ہو جن کا تمہیں علم نہیں؟ مفسرین بتاتے ہیں کہ اس کے پیچھے وہی عمل تھا: خانہ کعبہ کا ننگے ہو کر طواف کرنا اور اپنے آباؤ اجداد کی اس رسم کو اللہ کا حکم کہہ دینا۔
