فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ
So the shaking seized them, and morning found them lying dead in their homes. The commentaries note that the same end is described here for Midian as for Thamud, in the same words.
