وَجَعَلَ ٱلْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا
and set the moon in them as a light and the sun as a lamp? The commentaries note the sun is called the lamp because its light is its own and stronger.
اور ان میں چاند کو نور اور سورج کو چراغ بنایا۔ جلالین وضاحت کرتے ہیں کہ چاند سے مراد ان کے مجموعے میں ہے جو آسمانِ دنیا کی طرف اشارہ کرتا ہے، اور سورج کو چراغ کہنے کا مطلب ہے روشن چراغ، جو چاند کے نور سے زیادہ طاقتور ہے۔ تفسیر مقباس بتاتی ہے کہ وجعل القمر فیھن نورا میں چاند کو آسمانوں میں شمار کرنا درست ہے، یعنی پرانے مروجہ اصطلاح کے مطابق جو مشاہدے پر مبنی ہے۔
