وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ سَمِعْنَا وَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ
Do not be like those who say we hear, and they do not hear. The hearing meant is the hearing that understands and accepts, not the sound reaching the ear.
ان منافقوں کی طرح مت بنو جو زبان سے کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے سن لیا حالانکہ حقیقت میں وہ سنتے ہی نہیں، یعنی سمجھ کر قبول کرنے والا سننا ان میں نہیں پایا جاتا۔ یہاں سننے سے مراد وہ سننا ہے جو سمجھ اور اطاعت کے ساتھ ہو، نہ کہ صرف آواز کا کان تک پہنچ جانا بغیر غور و فکر کے۔
