وَإِذْ قَالُوا۟ ٱللَّهُمَّ إِن كَانَ هَٰذَا هُوَ ٱلْحَقَّ مِنْ عِندِكَ فَأَمْطِرْ عَلَيْنَا حِجَارَةً مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَوِ ٱئْتِنَا بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
And when they said: God, if this is the truth from You, then rain stones on us from the sky, or bring us a painful punishment. They asked for it in mockery, as a show of being certain it was false.
اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب بعض مشرکوں نے مذاق اڑاتے ہوئے کہا: اے اللہ! اگر یہ قرآن واقعی تیری طرف سے حق ہے تو ہم پر آسمان سے پتھر برسا دے، یا ہمیں کوئی دردناک عذاب دے دے۔ انہوں نے یہ بات محض مذاق اور استہزا کے طور پر کہی، تاکہ اپنے اس جھوٹے یقین کا اظہار کریں کہ یہ بات باطل ہے اور کبھی پیش نہیں آئے گی۔
