وَتَأْكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَّمًّا
and you devour the inheritance greedily — taking it all in, the commentaries gloss, including the shares of the women and the children.
”تُرَاث“ سے مراد میراث کا مال ہے، اور ”اَکْلًا لَّمًّا“ کا مطلب ہے سمیٹ کر، بغیر کچھ چھوڑے کھا جانا۔ وہ اپنا حصہ بھی لیتے ہیں اور کمزوروں کا حصہ بھی، اور حلال و حرام میں کوئی تمیز نہیں کرتے۔ ”کھانے“ کا لفظ اس لیے آیا کہ اس میں مال کے تصرف کی بیشتر صورتیں آ جاتی ہیں۔
