وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا
and you love wealth with a great love. The commentaries agree the four together answer the two claims before them: honour is not wealth, and what they do with wealth is the measure.
اور تم مال سے بہت زیادہ اور حد سے بڑھی ہوئی محبت کرتے ہو۔ یہی محبت پچھلی سب باتوں کی جڑ ہے: اسی کی وجہ سے یتیم کی عزت اور مسکین کا کھانا رک جاتا ہے، اور اسی کی وجہ سے ہر راستے سے مال جمع کیا جاتا ہے۔ خرچ سے بخل اور جمع کرنے کی حرص — دونوں ایک ہی بیماری کے دو رخ ہیں۔
