إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلْعِمَادِ
with Iram of the pillars — the earlier ʿĀd, the commentaries agree, named for what they built.
”اِرَم“ وہ نام ہے جس کی طرف یہ قوم منسوب ہوئی، اور مراد عادِ اولیٰ ہے جن کی طرف حضرت ہود علیہ السلام بھیجے گئے۔ ”ذَاتِ الْعِمَاد“ ان کی قوت اور دراز قامتی کی طرف بھی اشارہ ہے اور اس کی طرف بھی کہ وہ ستونوں پر بلند و بالا عمارتیں کھڑی کرتے تھے۔ یوں ان میں جسمانی طاقت اور تعمیر کی مہارت دونوں جمع تھیں۔
