وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُوا۟ ٱلصَّخْرَ بِٱلْوَادِ

اور قومِ ثمود، جو حضرت صالح علیہ السلام کی قوم تھی۔ ”جَابُوا“ کے معنی ہیں کاٹنا اور تراشنا؛ انہوں نے وادی میں چٹانوں کو تراش کر ان کے اندر اپنے گھر اور محلات بنائے تھے۔ ان کی رہائش گاہیں معروف تھیں اور ان کے آثار آج بھی موجود ہیں۔
