وَأَذَٰنٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَوْمَ ٱلْحَجِّ ٱلْأَكْبَرِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَرِىٓءٌ مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَرَسُولُهُۥ فَإِن تُبْتُمْ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّكُمْ غَيْرُ مُعْجِزِى ٱللَّهِ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
And a proclamation from God and His Messenger to all people on the day of the greater pilgrimage: that God is quit of those who set up partners with God, and so is His Messenger. If you turn back to God, it is better for you; and if you turn away, know that you cannot escape God. Give news of a painful punishment to those who refuse. The commentaries carry the proclamation together: it was made at Mina on the Day of Sacrifice in the ninth year, by Ali, whom the Prophet sent with these signs.
اور اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی طرف سے حج اکبر کے دن تمام لوگوں کے لیے یہ اعلان ہے کہ اللہ مشرکین سے بری الذمہ ہے اور اس کا رسول بھی۔ اگر تم توبہ کر لو تو یہ تمہارے لیے بہتر ہے، اور اگر منہ موڑو تو جان لو کہ تم اللہ کو عاجز نہیں کر سکتے۔ اور کافروں کو دردناک عذاب کی خبر سنا دیجیے۔ تفسیر بتاتی ہے کہ یہ اعلان سن نو ہجری میں یوم النحر کو منیٰ کے مقام پر حضرت علیؓ نے کیا تھا، جنہیں نبی کریم ﷺ نے انہی آیات کے ساتھ بھیجا تھا۔
