يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلْأَحْبَارِ وَٱلرُّهْبَانِ لَيَأْكُلُونَ أَمْوَٰلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَكْنِزُونَ ٱلذَّهَبَ وَٱلْفِضَّةَ وَلَا يُنفِقُونَهَا فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
You who believe, many of the scholars and the monks devour people's wealth wrongfully and bar them from the way of God. As for those who hoard up gold and silver and do not spend it in the way of God, give them news of a painful punishment. The commentaries note the qualification together: it is the hoarding that is not spent which is meant.
اے ایمان والو! بہت سے علماء اور راہب لوگوں کا مال ناحق کھاتے ہیں اور انہیں اللہ کے راستے سے روکتے ہیں۔ اور جو لوگ سونا اور چاندی جمع کرتے ہیں اور اسے اللہ کی راہ میں خرچ نہیں کرتے، انہیں دردناک عذاب کی خبر سنا دو۔ تفسیر بتاتی ہے کہ یہاں مراد وہی خزانہ ہے جس میں سے خرچ نہ کیا جائے۔
