وَمِنْهُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ ٱلنَّبِىَّ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ أُذُنٌ قُلْ أُذُنُ خَيْرٍ لَّكُمْ يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَيُؤْمِنُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
And among them are those who hurt the Prophet and say: he is all ears. Say: an ear of good for you. He believes in God, and trusts the believers, and is a mercy to those of you who believe. The commentaries take their words together: they meant that he listens to whatever is said and accepts it, so that their oaths would be believed. For those who hurt the Messenger of God there is a painful punishment.
اور ان میں سے کچھ لوگ ایسے بھی ہیں جو نبی کریم ﷺ کو تکلیف پہنچاتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ وہ تو بس کان ہی کان ہیں۔ کہہ دیجیے: وہ تمہارے لیے بھلائی کا کان ہیں، وہ اللہ پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں اور مومنوں کی بات مانتے ہیں، اور تم میں سے جو لوگ ایمان لائے ان کے لیے رحمت ہیں۔ تفسیر بتاتی ہے کہ ان کا مطلب یہ تھا کہ وہ ہر بات سن کر مان لیتے ہیں، تاکہ جب یہ قسم کھائیں تو ان کی قسم بھی مان لی جائے۔ اور جو لوگ اللہ کے رسول کو تکلیف پہنچاتے ہیں ان کے لیے دردناک عذاب ہے۔
