فَأَعْقَبَهُمْ نِفَاقًا فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يَلْقَوْنَهُۥ بِمَآ أَخْلَفُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا وَعَدُوهُ وَبِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ
So He left hypocrisy behind in their hearts, until the day they meet Him, because they broke with God what they had promised Him, and because they lied. The commentaries name the man together: he asked the Prophet to pray that he be given wealth, and when it came he withheld it.
سو اللہ نے اس عہد شکنی اور جھوٹ بولنے کی سزا میں ان کے دلوں میں ہمیشہ کے لیے نفاق ڈال دیا، اس دن تک جب وہ اللہ سے ملاقات کریں گے، کیونکہ انہوں نے اللہ سے کیا ہوا وعدہ توڑ دیا اور جھوٹ بولتے رہے۔ تفسیر اس شخص کا نام بھی بتاتی ہے: اس نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے دعا کی درخواست کی تھی کہ اسے مال ملے، اور جب مال آیا تو اس نے اسے روک لیا۔
