وَهَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ
And We showed him the two roads. Both traditions agree on what the two are - the way of good and the way of evil - and that they were made plain to him, so that the choosing is his.
”نَجْد“ اُس بلند اور نمایاں راستے کو کہتے ہیں جو چلنے والے کو صاف نظر آئے۔ مراد یہ ہے کہ ہم نے اسے خیر اور شر دونوں کے راستے دکھا دیے اور واضح کر دیے — اجمالاً عقل و فطرت کے ذریعے اور تفصیلاً انبیا کی زبان سے — پھر اختیار اسی کو دے دیا۔ یہ بدن کی نعمتوں کے بعد دین کی نعمت ہے، اور اسی سے اس پر حجت قائم ہوتی ہے۔
