وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْعَقَبَةُ
And what will tell you what the steep road is? The commentaries note the question is asked to magnify it, and that wherever the Qur'an asks what will tell you, it means: what will make you know.
یہ سوال گھاٹی کی عظمت جتانے اور سننے والے کو متوجہ کرنے کے لیے ہے: اور آپ کو کیا معلوم کہ وہ گھاٹی کیا ہے؟ یہ جملہ معترضہ ہے جس کا مقصد بیان سے پہلے اس کے شان کو بڑھانا ہے۔ پھر اس کے فوراً بعد ایسے متعین اعمال کا ذکر آیا جن میں کسی تاویل کی گنجائش نہیں۔
