ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْمَرْحَمَةِ
Then to be one of those who believe, who enjoin patience on one another and enjoin mercy on one another. The commentaries agree the deeds just listed do not stand on their own: faith is what carries them, and the two mutual counsels come with it - patience in obeying God and in holding back from disobeying Him, and mercy towards people.
پھر ان اعمال کے ساتھ وہ اُن لوگوں میں سے ہو جو ایمان لائے۔ یہاں ”ثُمَّ“ زمانی ترتیب کے لیے نہیں بلکہ رتبے کی ترتیب کے لیے ہے: ایمان وہ بنیاد ہے جس کے بغیر کوئی عمل قبول نہیں۔ اور ان کی صفت یہ ہے کہ وہ ایک دوسرے کو صبر کی تلقین کرتے ہیں — طاعت پر، گناہ سے رکنے پر اور آزمائش پر — اور ایک دوسرے کو مخلوق پر رحم اور ہمدردی کی وصیت کرتے ہیں۔
