لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ فِى كَبَدٍ
This is what the oath is sworn to: We created man in toil. The commentaries agree the word means labour and hardship - that he contends with the troubles of this world and the hardships of the next - and that no stretch of his life is free of it.
یہ قسم کا جواب ہے۔ ”کَبَد“ کے معنی ہیں سختی، تھکن اور مشقت — اسی سے ”مکابدہ“ ہے یعنی مشقتیں جھیلنا۔ مطلب یہ کہ انسان کو پیدا ہی مشقت میں کیا گیا ہے؛ وہ اپنے ابتدائی لمحے سے آخری سانس تک اس سے الگ نہیں ہو سکتا، امیر ہو یا غریب، حاکم ہو یا محکوم۔ یہ دنیا کسی کے لیے بھی خالص آرام کا گھر نہیں۔
