فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا
But they called him a liar and hamstrung her, so their Lord brought the punishment down on them for their sin and levelled it over them. The commentaries gloss the levelling as its falling on all of them alike, with neither the small nor the great left out of it.
تو انہوں نے اس تنبیہ کو جھٹلایا اور اونٹنی کی کونچیں کاٹ دیں۔ چنانچہ ان کے رب نے ان کے گناہ کے سبب ان پر عذاب ڈال دیا اور اس میں سب کو برابر کر دیا، کوئی بھی بچ کر نہ نکلا۔ اس میں یہ اصول ہے کہ جب کوئی قوم برائی پر نکیر کرنے کے بجائے اسے پسند کرے تو وہ اس میں شریک شمار ہوتی ہے۔
