وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ
But as for him who holds back and counts himself in need of nothing - the commentaries gloss the holding back as withholding what God made due, and the self-sufficiency as having no use for what God would give in return.
اور جس نے بخل کیا، یعنی جو خرچ کرنا اس پر لازم تھا اسے روک رکھا، اور بےپروا ہو گیا کہ نہ اپنے رب کا محتاج سمجھا اور نہ اس کے فضل کا طلب گار ہوا۔ یہ پہلے کے بالکل مقابل ہے: ہاتھ سے روکا اور دل سے بےنیاز ہوا۔ اور اللہ سے بےنیازی ہی ہر رو گردانی کی جڑ ہے۔
