وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلًا فَأَغْنَىٰ
And He found you in need, and made you free of need. The commentaries gloss the word as poor, and several of them say what the enriching was: contentment put into the soul, before ever anything was put into the hand.
اور اس نے آپ کو ”عَائِل“ یعنی تنگ دست پایا تو غنی کر دیا۔ ”عائل“ وہ ہے جس کے پاس اپنی اور اپنے زیرِ کفالت لوگوں کی ضرورت کے لیے کافی نہ ہو۔ اللہ نے آپ کا رزق آپ تک پہنچایا اور قناعت و صبر کے ذریعے آپ کے نفس کو غنی کر دیا — اور یہی اصل تونگری ہے، جیسا کہ فرمایا گیا کہ تونگری سازوسامان کی کثرت کا نام نہیں، دل کی تونگری کا نام ہے۔
