ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِ
Who taught by the pen. Both traditions gloss it as the teaching of writing, and both say the same thing about why it is named: the business of the world is carried on by it, from one end of the earth to the other.
وہی جس نے قلم کے ذریعے سکھایا، یعنی اپنے بندوں کو لکھنا سکھایا۔ قلم وہ آلہ ہے جس سے علم محفوظ ہو جاتا ہے اور صاحبِ علم کے چلے جانے سے چلا نہیں جاتا؛ جو دلوں میں ہے وہ اپنے مالک کے ساتھ رخصت ہو جاتا ہے، جو زبان سے نکلتا ہے وہ باقی نہیں رہتا، مگر جو لکھ لیا گیا وہ رہ جاتا ہے۔ اسی قلم کی بدولت علوم اور پچھلوں کے حالات محفوظ ہیں۔
