وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ
And what will tell you what the Night of Decree is? Both traditions gloss the question as set there to magnify the night rather than to inform - what is being asked about is past anything the one asked could have known of himself.
”اور آپ کو کیا معلوم کہ لیلۃ القدر کیا ہے؟“ یہ سوال اس رات کی عظمت جتانے اور اس پر حیرت میں ڈالنے کے لیے ہے۔ اس میں یہ اشارہ بھی ہے کہ اس کی فضیلت کی اصل حقیقت مخلوق کی رسائی سے آگے ہے، اسے پوری طرح اللہ ہی جانتا ہے۔ پھر اس کے بعد اتنا بیان کر دیا گیا جتنا سمجھ کے قریب لایا جا سکتا تھا۔
