وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ حُنَفَآءَ وَيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ ٱلْقَيِّمَةِ
And they were commanded only to serve God, keeping the religion purely for Him, turning away from everything else towards the one God, and to establish the prayer and to give the zakat; and that is the upright religion. Both traditions gloss the purity as leaving off setting partners beside Him, and they note that this stood in their own books already, so that nothing new was being asked of them.
اور انہیں اپنی کتابوں میں اس کے سوا کوئی حکم نہیں دیا گیا تھا کہ صرف اللہ کی عبادت کریں، دین کو اُسی کے لیے خالص رکھیں اور کسی کو شریک نہ کریں، ”حُنَفَاء“ یعنی باطل سے یکسو ہو کر حق پر جمے رہیں، اور نماز قائم کریں اور زکوٰۃ ادا کریں۔ اور یہی ”دِیْنُ الْقَیِّمَۃ“ ہے، یعنی وہ سیدھی ملت جس میں کوئی کجی نہیں۔ گویا جس بات کا انہیں پہلے حکم دیا گیا تھا، وہی بات لے کر یہ رسول آئے — تو پھر انکار کس دلیل پر؟
