بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا
When the earth is shaken with its own shaking. Both traditions make the same point about the wording: the shaking is called the earth's own, which marks it out as the one belonging to it and at its utmost - the shaking that comes with the Hour, matched to the size of the thing shaken.
جب زمین کو زور دار جھٹکے سے ہلا دیا جائے گا، ایسے ہلانے سے جو اس کی عظمت کے شایانِ شان ہو۔ زلزلے کو خود اسی کی طرف منسوب کرنا — ”زِلْزَالَہَا“ — بتاتا ہے کہ یہ اُس کا اپنا مخصوص زلزلہ ہے، جس کا لوگوں کے جانے پہچانے زلزلوں سے کوئی مقابلہ نہیں۔ اس کے بعد نہ کوئی عمارت کھڑی رہے گی اور نہ کوئی پہاڑ اپنی جگہ، یہاں تک کہ زمین ہموار میدان بن جائے گی جس میں کوئی ٹیڑھ باقی نہ رہے گی۔
