# MASTER ONTOLOGY — the two axes
*The constitution of structure. Growth from 13,500 to 100,000+ nodes never
restructures what is written here.*

## Why two axes

The founding conversations produced two orderings that must never be
confused, because each answers a different question:

**The AXIS OF EXISTENCE** answers *"from where does everything proceed?"*
It is the order of reverence and reality:

    ALLAH ﷻ
→ Revelation (Jibrīl عليه السلام, the channel)
        → The Final Message (al-Qurʾān)
→ The Final Messenger (Muḥammad ﷺ)
            → Ahl al-Bayt · Ṣaḥāba · Ṣaḥābiyāt · Tābiʿūn
→ The Ummah and its scholars
→ Creation, studied by human inquiry

**The AXIS OF EVIDENCE** answers *"how do we know a statement is true?"*
It is the order of epistemology:

    the sealed text
→ what the earliest generations recorded of its meaning
→ the named carriers of that record (with their chains)
→ the derived sciences (fiqh, ʿaqīda, uṣūl) as documented
            → historical and civilizational memory
→ contemporary research, always labelled as such

**The rule that keeps them apart:** placement on the existence axis
confers reverence, never evidentiary authority; placement on the evidence
axis confers traceability, never rank in reality. A fiqh position cannot
claim the sanctity of the root; a beloved figure's report still carries
its chain. Every node in the waqf declares its position on BOTH axes.

## Node types (first-class, closed list — extension requires a charter amendment)

Ayah · Surah · Word · Root · Lemma · Reading (qirāʾa/riwāya) · Report
(ḥadīth) · Narrator · Person · Family-tree edge · Place · Event · Work
(book/edition) · Scholar · Chain (isnād/teacher-student) · Topic ·
Concept · Name-of-Allah ﷻ · Angel · Prophet · Nation · Institution ·
Dataset · Claim · Verdict · Review · Licence.

## Relationship types (every edge carries evidence or UNSOURCED)

cites · quotes-verbatim · comments-on · narrates · transmitted-to ·
taught · parent-of/married-to/child-of · occurs-in · revealed-about
(asbāb, as documented) · located-at · participated-in · agrees-with
(documented consensus) · differs-with (documented difference) ·
derived-from · translated-as · reviewed-by · superseded-by.

## The immutable core (see ROOT_PILLARS.md)

Eight programs may never be demoted, renamed, or re-rooted:
Allah ﷻ · Bismillah & Mercy · The Qurʾān (Final Message) · Muḥammad ﷺ
(Final Messenger) · Jibrīl & the Angels · The Hereafter · The Prophets &
Messengers · al-Qadr.

## Expansion law ("slots, not tickets")

Every pillar carries numbered slot-extensions beyond its base points.
New knowledge lands in slots; slots never renumber existing points; the
base ledger `_FRAMEWORK-13500.json` is append-only and versioned. A
change to any base point's meaning requires the owner's word and a
version entry — silence is never consent.
